One of the most well known doctors in Syria (since the revolution began), Dr Qassem, who is based in Qusayr, Homs buried his elderly father today. He was killed when Assad’s forces shelled his home.
Dr Qassem has been featured in a number of documentaries and countless videos, among them is this heart wrenching one by journalist Robert King who shot this video in Qusyr, Homs for VICE Magazine.

Destruction Comes to Aleppo (Syria) - Photos from The Atlantic
Ten bodies are dumped outside the Air Force Intelligence HQ in Aleppo, Syria. Assad’s forces do not even bother to try and hide the fact that is was them that killed these men.
They were arrested for any ‘crime’ Assad’s men sought fit to accuse them of, then taken to the dreaded HQ, tortured, executed then had their bodies dumped on the side of the road down the street.
This is Assad’s Syria. This is what life … and death is like.
ASSAD’S FORCES UNLEASH A HELLISH FURY UPON THIS TOWN FOR IT’S ‘DISOBEDIENCE’ Homs (Talbiseh): July 19, 2012 - Even though the FSA have liberated the town, Assad’s forces cowardly sit many miles away with their monstrous Russian artillery and continue to bomb away. According to activists, today’s bombing has been the worst they’ve seen in months … yes, they’ve been bombed non-stop every day for months on end.
***VERY GRAPHIC*** This is a child who was massacred in Afrin, Aleppo on June 12, 2012 by Assad’s forces. I do not know what the circumstances were that lead to such a horrific death. Nor do I apologize or excuse the posting of such a graphic photo. This is our reality. This is what is happening in Syria today. This is the fate of the children of Syria.
Afrin is a small Kurdish town South of A’zzaz and North West of Aleppo city.
THE PEOPLE OF SYRIA ARE CALLING FOR HELP … NO ONE CAN HEAR
***TRULY HEARTBREAKING*** AN ELDERLY MAN IS ABDUCTED, ASSAULTED, TORTURED AND RELEASED BY ASSAD’S THUGS. Homs (Quseir): May 28, 2012 - He’s still shivering uncontrollably from the terror of what just happened to him.
Cameraman asks him: “What happened to you uncle (term used when addressing older person)?”. The elderly man can barely reply, saying “What can I say, they hit my on my head, the beat me … they beat me with metal bars …. “
He can’t say anymore. Assad’s thugs, who beat him, were probably young enough to be his grandchildren.
